my bro's family went to Leyte last week for 1week vacation via xxxPacific.Upon arrival nawawala po ang luggage niya. so diniclare niya yung mga laman ng luggage. CebuPac staff has informed him na as soon as ma re-trieve ang luggage ipapadeliver nila agad.pero po walang dumating na luggage. at hindi sila tumatawag to update us. the whole week ng bakasyon nila hindi talaga nahanap ang luggage, laking abala talaga. so going back to d airport, pauwi ng manila, chinek ulit ng bro ko yung status ng luggage. wla parin daw clarity. at sabi na dito daw sa naia airport ang may fault non. kaya wait lang daw for further notice. what is more upsetting is, ung bro ko pa mismo ang chek ng chek sa airline. kung baga hindi niya malalaman ang status ng luggage nya kung hindi pa sya tatawag or pupunta. atleast mnman magparamdam sila diba?

questions:
1. hindi naiiwasan ang ganung insidente, pero ang umabot ng morethan a week at wla pa ang luggage, klangan n b naming magworry nyan?

2. instead of enjoyable vacation, it was totally a ruined one. if hindi n talaga makita ang luggage. what are we expecting from cebupacific, what are the actions they need to do in order to make it up?

3. kung mare-trieve nman po ang luggage, can we still do something or file a complaint from them?

nag avail po ba ang passenger ng insurance? if yes, sa pagkaka alam ko, included ang "lost luggage" sa insurance niya. so may ma ke claim po siya, hindi ko lang alam up to what amount or value.. you can check with their hotline if na avail ang insurance.

franz, cebupac limits its liability based on the contract. it's on the conditions when you buy the ticket. however, if you are able to prove gross negligence or bad faith then you can release yourself from the contract's limits.

they should complain and write so that all of this is documented. rarely will an airline give more than their liability on the contract. you will have to hale them to court.

I recently lost my luggage on CEBU PACIFIC [never arrived after my flight]. I fly Cebu Every month, sometimes more and that is at least 36 times in the last 3 years. Okay, This is the first time it has happened, but If I don't get my suit case back I will change airlines... We call it VOTING WITH YOUR FEET!
==== now what happened ===
BUT i did get it back albeit 3 days later. After this experience I will change my habits ... Here are my suggestions to You all.

HERE IS WHAT YOU SHOULD REMEMBER;
1. Before you pack consider what you are putting into the Checked baggage. Do NOT put anything that you could not do without when you arrive.

2. A lot of luggage looks alike. How can you tell yours apart from a distance. [I had a rainbow band around mine.]

3. You should take a picture of you luggage, just in case you loose it to show them what it looked like. [I sifted through my pics and found a picture of it with the rainbow belt.]

4. How much does it Weigh? Always check it is under the limit. Cebu is 15KG. I have seen so many people charged extra.

5. When you are at the counter PAY ATTENTION to the attendant and MAKE SURE they PUT THE LUGGAGE STICKER ON YOU LUGGAGE and YOU GET THE STUB[I was given my stub as I got on the plane ... not at the counter.]

6. If you do loose your luggage report it immediately. Take a picture of all of the documents.
a. Luggage claim ticket.(They keep this when you report it)
b. your flight ticket stub. w/ seat number etc.
c. A picture of the luggage (do this before hand), w/stickers or what ever else is attached to it so they can distinguish it from another
d. the document you fill out (some strange noncommittal name like property discrepancy or something like that)
TAKE 3a,3b,& 3c and put it on one JPEG file. You should also put 2 phone numbers where they can reach you. [not sure why they called the second number who was a local and less likely to scream at them]

NOTES:
1. your confirmation number is the REFERENCE NUMBER for your lost luggage(Cebu told me this). Also it is printed on your luggage claim stub.
2. CEBU will give you ONLY 100Peso for ea KG so mine was 15KG that is 1500 Peso.
3. They want you to sign a waiver to release them from any obligation when you fill out the property discrepancy report. [I did not sign it]
4. FORGET the 02-556-4687 luggage claim number NO ONE EVER ANSWERS! [ i called over 20 times]
5. call 02-702-0888 and press #4 and tell them you lost luggage. Make sure you have your flight confirmation number before you call

EMAIL the JPEG file along with all the items in #3 AND the 2 contact numbers to LOSTLUGGAGEMNL@CEBUPACIFICAIR.COM. They gave me this email address when I called. The next day (day 3) it was delivered to the location I requested on the original form i filled out when I lost it.

They had opened it when I got it back but it looked like everything was there. The customs may have been the one that opened it.

Worst worst... super worst airline. They lost my baggaged on my way to GenSan last April 27. They have been apologizing since day one and until now they didnt find my baggage. No one is answering on the number they gave me. Customer service dont want to give their email address and number of their lost baggage section. I was in GenSan for official business trip and I was so devastated. Walang security. You may go inside and take whatever baggage you like coz guards are not checking you, nor inspecting the ticket you have against your baggage. I have a feeling that there's inside job already.
