Need an advise for my friend, he is abroad and his wife filed annulment. Both husband and wife is abroad, but the wife is coming home fixing the annulment. Now the husbands family received a subpoena for the said case, but the husband is abroad, so he can't come. The reasons why she wants to have an annulment according to the subpoena is because the husband is a drunkard and that he was using marijuana back then, which is not really proven. So who shall appear to court in the absence of the husband and what can the husband do to avoid being disrupted from work. They are abroad but in different counties anyway.

your friend has to either respond to that annulment case or just let the wife proceed with it.

Does he need to come home for it, or can he just ask a representative to stand for him?

if he is opposing, he has to get his own lawyer and respond. im not sure if he can do it abroad tapos have his reply notarized then sent back to his lawyer sa pinas.

im undergoing annulment din kasi pero ako ung nag file. ung partner ko alam ko went back to Phils to hire own lawyer.

Is the husband planning to oppose the petition? If not, let it be

Thanks guys for the responses, I don't think that the husband will oppose it, as he must have accepted the truth that the wife doesn't love him anymore, since he tried for 3 years to save the relationship but it really doesn't work. The problem is the reasons stated why the wife is filling for annulment is not true, so what's the best thing he can do? He wants the annulment but the reasons stated why the annulment was filed is not true.

If he wants the annulment, just let it be and dont oppose for any reason. He wont have to spend for legal fees.
