my parents have been employed in a company for 38 years now, and during the duration, have provided for us. 15 years ago, the company was able to purchase a lot adjacent to its main building and we were asked to occupy the place as our family was growing.

in 2005, the original owner of the company passed away and his nephew was appointed the interim manager of the company. with it came several changes in leadership too.

last year a new lot adjacent to where we are living has been purchased by the company, and two months ago testing of the new lot for construction feasibility was done, but that was it, drilling was done and stopped and no mention of any plan was discussed, except for the fact that the new land together with the lot we are currently residing at will be used eventually by the company. the company even went to the extent of preparing two rooms inside company premises for us (the family) to use.

last Dec. 19, the company manager called on my parents but he was not the one who discussed matters with them. it was a board member of the company who claimed that he was designated by the manager to discuss things with them. this was not formally announced by the manager, nor any memorandum or meeting was called for this purpose. this person suddenly came into the picture, using his authority as a member of the board of trustees. so he then told my parents on that day that we are supposed to leave the house and lot that we are living in now because they are going to use the land, further he stated that we should be out of the property by January 30, 2013. he then stated also that as we are not minors anymore, we, the children, are not allowed to stay in the company premises since we are not employees.

the only offer they gave my parents is 20 thousand pesos to be used for transporting our things to wherever we are transferring.

my questions are:
1.) did the company violate any law?
2.) does the person have the right to order things?
3.) what should have been the proper procedure?
4.) should we be compensated for letting us transfer abruptly?

the board member also told my parents that when they receive the 20 thousand, he would also let them sign something, but did not disclose what it was.
