Meralco demand letter

I've read most of the stories and most of us are on the same both except for us who are not rich but is demanded a 1.4M bill due to VOC and violation of RA 7832.

I went to the contact person yesterday, kelangan daw namin bayaran in 5yrs maximum. She advised me to discuss and they are open for negotiation.

Thing is, even if the charge drops 50%, i still won't be able to pay it. My father who is usually the bread winner, has cancer and has not went to work for months now at hindi na sumasahod so that leaves me. Di nga namin sinasabi sa kanya, baka maaggravate pa sakit niya

Tampered kung tampered, pero 1.4M?? Dineny ko din na me alam kme sa tampering ng metro na yan, still, gusto kme pagbayarin. What can we do? I can't pay this, wala ng mapupuntahan yung earnings ko kundi etong Meralco! Kung presyuhan nya mga appliances namin to come up with 1.4M parang commercial establishment kami, bat naman ganito. Pls help

or pwede mong antayin na file-an ka ng kaso. at in case na ma convict ka, may kasamang danyos civil yan, na ....bilibit or not, malamang 1.4M din!!

of course pwede ka din ma acquit. but remember kapag nakapag file yan, me warrant of arrest yan, para ka makalabas, mag ba-bail ka- meaning pera din.

so negotiate. technique diyan, kung totoong me jumper kau, e magmakaawa. mahirap kasi, sa society natin yung taong tumawid sa may karatulang bawal tumawid, siya pa ang galit kapag nasagasaan....

sabi ng kausap ko sa meralco, wag na namin subukan pang idaan to so korte, matatalo lang kme. oo gets ko na, di naman daw sinasabi ng meralco na TINAMPER NIYO ung metro niyo kundi TAMPERED ang metro niyo. hence, liable ka kasi sayo nakakabit.

so andaming hinihingi sakin ngaun, giving me less than 10days to prepare for it, para marecompute.

ang tanong po, pag di namin nabayaran yan, madidisconnect yung service diba? tapos nun me kasunod pa ba?

There's no place for my sick dad to be involved in this. In the first place, di sa kanya nakapangalan ung bill. We want him to stay out of it, but yung pakiusap namin sa Meralco eh dahil nga me sakit ang tatay ko, mas kelangan namin ng pera para pagamutin sha this time instead na bayaran pa yang bill na yan.

So ganun nga? Pag di namin binayaran, mapuputol, tapos? Kulong?

Di man sa kanya nakapangalan pero nakatira sya sa inyo right? You just have to completely deny it and be practical and do your best to save your arse! Humanitarian will get involve if they are prosecuting a terrible ill person! You have no choice if you can't pay it, you will end up in jail.

Meron na bang nakalusot na after madisconnect eh wala ng hinabol si Meralco?Para ba tong credit card fraud na maraming nakakalusot pagkatapos maputulan?

mahirap sagutin ang tanong na yan... i gogel mo nalang ang RA 7832, at intindihin ang Sec 2 at 4. at higit sa lahat, yung Sec 7.. pra makilala mo ang grupo nina prision mayor.. at gud luck sa inyo.

nagpapa-upa kasi kami.. ung tenant na nag-apply ng Electricity sa Meralco 2 yrs ago, na umalis 7-8 months ago, tinamper pala nila ung metro nila..

So recently, nahuli sya ng meralco, edi sa parents ko ang bagsak ng penalty..

Around 70k lang naman ung penalty sa amin.. Kawawa naman kayo at namomroblema kayo ng 1.4m.. Hmmm..

Hindi nakapangalan sa amin ung bill kaya ok lang kahit hindi namin bayaran. kaso, hindi makapag-apply ng panibagong Electricity ung bagong tenant namin dahil nga sa Address.

Kaya nakipag-negotiate lang parents ko w/ meralco kung panu mababayaran ung 70k.. hinati-hati nila un w/in 2 yrs.. tapos idinadagdag sa bill nung bagong tenant every month..

The best thing to do is makipag-negotiate talga sa Meralco, kasi wala tlaga kayong laban kung aabot sa Corte.. Mapapababa nila yan upto 70% off.. Magmakaawa ka.. wag mo tigilan pagpa-follow-up hangga't hindi naasikaso..

Hayst.. wala lang, ewan ko ba sa mga mamamayan ngayon, cguro sa hirap nadin ng buhay.. Isang uri din kasi ng pagnanakaw un eh..

I just wanted to solicit some advice as well because we're having the same issue.

Recently, we received demand letter from Meralco saying that we have unsettled account for about 50K (Nov. 2012 - April 2013). I asked my dad what happened and he told me that he let an automotive shop (small business) to use/connect to our meter (shared; in my dad's name). According to their agreement, the shop owner told him that he will be the one to pay for the electricity, including our monthly consumption (in return of allowing him to use our meter). On a regular basis, our monthly consumption would be from 1.5K -1.8K. By the every end of the month, my dad would ask the shop owner for our bill and he always gets a reply of "nabayan na po natin.."

When the demand notice came, we're confused what happened and later we learned that the shop owner really didn't pay the monthly bill. After receiving the demand notice, Meralco took our meter and we're informed that we'll never have new connection again because of what happened.

Is there a case that I could file for the shop owner? Gusto ko sana siyang turuan ng lesson. Sinira nya na nga yung trust nung dad ko nadamay pa kami because we'll never get our connection back.

I don't mind paying the amount on the demand letter kasi baka kapag pinatagal ko pa lalo lang lumaki yung bill namin. Worst scenario, baka magka-warrant of arrest pa yung dad ko.

Any recommendation?

I would like to seek an advice regarding sa pinaupahan namin bahay sa Cavite, na nahulian ng jumper sa mismo metro namin pero since nandito kami sa Manila nagtratrabaho ng asawa ko, hindi namin alam na may ganoon na pangyayari. Nakapangalan un sa asawa ko pero ung nangugupahan sa amin bigla nawala at nagtext na lang sa amin wala na sila sa bahay. Kinuha ung metro namin ng Meralco at nag-iwan ng demand letter na kailangan namin daw magbayad. March sila ng VOC o nag-inspect sa bahay, pero April and May may billing pang dumating. Ung tenant namin ang nakikipag-usap sa Meralco without our knowledge and consent. Tapos ngayon bigla sila nawala noong hindi na naayos ung problema. Kami owners daw ung hahabulin since kami ung nakapangalan sa metro. Tama po ba hindi na namin asikasohin ung metro at ipagbili na lang ung bahay at lupa? Kasi sabi ng nakausap ko sa Meralco hindi daw makakabitan ng panibagong metro ung bahay kahit iba na ung may-ari kaya mas mabuti daw na i-settle na lang namin ung bill kahit hindi kami ung gumawa at gumamit.

balak nyo bang idisclose sa pagbebentahan nyo na may kaso sa meralco yung property pag binenta nyo? kasi kung mabenta nyo man ang property ay pwede parin kayo kasuhan nun bibili if ever di nyo disclose tong issue na to.
