Hello Atty,

I just want to ask kung ano pwede mangyare pag yung wife ko hindi nya ginagamit and last name ko. Hiwalay na po kami last year pero hindi pa legal. Ngayon lang sya nagka trabaho at lahat ng documents nya ay naka apilido sa kanya (maiden). SSS, PAGIBIG, TIN, Philhealth, Company ID etc. Lahat ng documents maiden name gamit nya.

What can happen with her employment, marriage legality etc? Please advise. Thank you.

Oks lang po yon. When you both get married, ang nagbago lang sa kanya ay yung status - Married.

Please ask your wife to update her personal sheet with SSS, PAGIBIG, TIN, Philhealth, Company, etc.

Though, my wife is still using her surname not mine.

Oks lang po yon. Karamihan sa mga doctor ganyan kasi pag pinalitan ung apelyido nila - hindi na sila sikat at nababawasan ng client. So maintain pa rin nila ung maiden name nila. Equally applicable yan sa mga profession where the maiden name from which she was known is very important in the conduct of the business.
