I need to authenticate my Canadian Divorce Certificate so I can register it at the NSO in QC to clear my past Filipino marriage. I'm a foreigner and was married in 2011 and have secured a Canadian Divorce Certificate due to adultery of my wife in the Philippines. Do I have to get the Ribbon/Seal Authentication of the Divorce Certificate at the Philippines Embassy in Canada, before I submit it to the NSO in QC? Is this enough to valid date the Divorce certificate or do I have to go to court to validate a Foreign Divorce Decree in the Philippines. Some of my foreign friends had the Ribbon/Seal from the Philippine Embassy and another couple had to submit and validate the document in court. So it didn’t seem to be very clear on what needed to take place so I can clear my past marriage. Any advise would be appreciated.
Thank You and God Bless Very Happy

unless you intend to marry again in the philippines, you can just report it to the philippine embassy.

Yes, I plan to marry again in the Philippines.... so what is the procedure? Can I just get the Ribbon and Seal on my Divorce Certificate at the Philippine Embassy and submit it to the NSO QC to clear my name.

ah, in that case, the proper procedure is to do both. registration at the ph embassy and then a petition here to have your divorce recognized and annotated on your marriage contract.
