Hi,

Me and my spouse are in huge credit card debt. Most of which are my spouses' credit cards. We are planning to file for bankruptcy, because the collection agencies and the banks are always calling us. Most of the credit cards have been restructured so that we can pay a fixed monthly. But now, we cannot pay even the fixed monthly amortization. My spouse has no work.

My questions are:
1. Can we file for bankruptcy?
2. We don't own any property, because we live in a house owned by my parents. We did provide the furnishings. Do we loose these furnishings and personal belongings (laptop) when we file for bankruptcy?

Thanks for any information you can provide.
