Kasama po ako sa isang recent batch ng Virtual Assistants na nag-undergo ng 2 weeks paid training. Ang may ari po nung company eh puro US Citizens, pero yung management (client services, HR, recruitment, training, etc) eh lahat nasa Philippines. They are registered sa SEC natin, and they only hire Philippine based Virtual Assistants as well.
Everything is done online/skype (recruitment, training, job proper) and before pa kami maprocess for recruitment, most of us were asked to upgrade our internet connections and computers (out of our own pockets). Upon hire, nirequire din kami magbukas ng bank account sa isang particular bank for our wages (out of pocket ulit). Wala pang 1 week na nakapag-submit kami ng bank account info namin, may sinend nanaman ang management na email stating that we are moving to a different bank, so we all need to apply for a different bank account nanaman (again, out of our own pocket).
During training, gumawa kami ng separate chatroom na kami-kami lang na mga trainees para magkaron kami ng mas casual na chat in tagalog to get to know each other, kase sa training chatroom, english all the time dapat.
At the end of our 2 weeks training is a final exam that takes around 7 hours to finish. After the exams, sabi sa amin to wait for the results the following week. That following week, may pumutok na balita that 7 of our batchmates were caught cheating (they all submitted the exact same document, binago lang name). According to our trainer, he had already spoken with the 7 and informed them na termed sila for cheating. The rest (9 of us) were just to wait for client interviews for the job proper.
Another week passed pero wala kaming update about our possible clients, then all of a sudden, we received an email from our HR manager stating that our Certifications have been revoked and that we were being terminated for cheating din. The email also stated that one of the original 7 sent a supposed transcript of the secondary chatroom, and it showed that the others were cheating as well.
I can assure you that we weren't, and our submitted work proves it. Kaya ganon na lang gulat namin sa nangyari. Since walang solid evidence (hindi rin pinakita sa amin yung supposed transcript so that we can see kung dinoktor man yun), tapos wala pang hearing man lang or notice to explain, pwede bang ganun na lang? terminated na lang kami lahat. The HR Manager's email even stated na they will no longer accept any appeal for reconsideration; and we won't be paid as well for the 2 weeks training.
May habol po ba kami? Although SEC registered yung company, from what we know, wala silang physical address kase nga kahit yung recruiters and managers nila eh work from home lahat.
