dear atty,

i need your advice on the interest rate used by my bank. It is suppose to be compounded yearly however it is not indicated in the time deposit certificate.

these are the terms as advertised in their website in 2007:
- 50,000 mininum placement
- 5 yr term compounded yearly
- 4.5% tax-free interest
- subject to documentary stamp charges

my only basis is i have proof that i paid for documentary stamp charges. doc stamp charges are supposedly waived for 5 yr term as far as i know.

do i have basis for my complaint?

please advice.

thanks in advance.

you can complain, but the certificate will be controlling, not the ad
