Arresto Menor

Hi,

I have a concern with regard to our compensation, this month we had a raise in our monthly pay but then i was surprised to see that in the compensation review form, parang mataas yung dinagdag kasi sinama ang monthly na value ng 13th month pay sa net income. Meaning kasama ang 13th month pay sa tax every month. By law ang 13th month pay is not taxable.

Please help me what to do.
Thank you.

that's not accurate although it's a commonly held fallacy. what is tax free is bonuses and allowances up to a max of P30,000.00 per year. if your bonuses including 13th month exceed P30k, then the excess is taxable income.

you can make a written request for an explanation from your finance or HR
