What is the difference between increase in rate and an increase in being regular in a job?

if this two take place at the same time . . how would the treatment be?can you give an example?

one referst to security of tenure, the other to the increase in pay.

what happens if the two occurs at the same time? for example if on january a rate increase was given to a certain position of an employee and on that same month an increase for being a regular employee is also rendered, would that rate increase be considered an increase in regularization?

jeram, that is a common practice, but it is not legally required.

nhesz, a written contract is not necessary.

attyLLL : what do you mean not legally required?
wouldn't it be given in a way that the increase in
rate should be rendered first followed by increase
being a regular employee?

example:
Starting rate = 7000
Increase in rate = 1000
Total/New Rate ofter increase = 8000

Increase in regularitation of 7percent = 560
Total/New Rate after regularitation = 8560

Is my example misleading?

what i mean is that the law does not require an employer to give an increase at all. all it requires is that they pay at least minimum wage.

if for example they paid minimum wage to a probationary employee and he became a regular employee after 6 months, they can keep paying him only 440 and never give him an increase except when the min wage is increased.

whatever increase they give beyond that is purely management prerogative.

that if the case is there was a wage increase and afterwards that employee is to become what would the treatment be?
