Hello there... I would just like to inquire, If there would be any problems if I will change my prime beneficiary? From my 1st wife to my present wife. My 1st wife; we got separated due to validity. I discovered after 11 years that she was legally married last 1985 before our got married last 1988... Now Im happily married to my second wife (last 2001) for 10 years now on the notion that my 1st marriage was null and void from the start... can I know what are the steps in changing my prime beneficiary in my SSS? I want my 2nd wife to deserve everything I will leave behind in case I die.... Your advice will be highly appreciated Atty.... May God Bless you......

Hello Atty.. This is in response to your question "Did I declare my 1st marriage void?". The answer is "I Have'nt.." I was given the notion that it was void from the start.. I guess im a victim of the famous quote "Ignorance of the Law excuses no one"... That was almost 20 years ago.. Do you think, I still need to do some court actions to make this void? Is this much easier and cheaper than an anullment? Please I need your advice.....

you are in a very precarious situation. when you got married again, that is the crime of bigamy. seems like both you and your 1st wife are guilty of it. i don't recommend you do anything at the sss unless this has been fixed, and to do that you have to annul BOTH your marriages.
