hi atty.

i like to buy a single unit of townhouse and lot. I already paid for the reservation and 4 months downpayment. right now, the construction of the property has been temporarily halted because the developer has to submit some documents. i heard that they did not have a some permits yet. the developer keeps on promising me that they will start constructing within a week but this dragged into months and no construction took place. i have been paying them religiously every month. is there a way that i can ensure that I will get all the amount I paid them just in case the project won;t push through? is there a way that i can have them tell me the true state of the project? evrytime i call their office, they will tell me varied reasons why the project was temporarily halted. thanks a lot and more power.

you can validly stop your payments by sending them a written notice. if later they refuse to issue a refund, you'll have to file a case at hlurb
