confused which Last name to use..

I have few questions that have been bugging me lately. In few weeks classes wil start so i need to make major decisions.Please help me. I am a Filipina with a 6yr old son, not married from French guy(he claim to be) i met in China. My son was born in China. so the birth certificate was issued there. My son is carrying his father last name. BUt after the separation i found out that his father is carrying a false identity. I was told that someone sold this passport under the table. And to make it a real working passport he have to exit in one country(unfortunately our system is lax that he did it made it to work) to make it a valid one. So this means that my son is carrying a last name that doesnt even exist? what if the passport expires and so he need a new one, what if he wont find anybody who will sell him this stuff again?What do i do?

my son is going to attend grade 1 in a months time, so i wanted to know what do i do.? one of our relative did register my son as a late registry a year ago and has my last name written. can he used this instead? will i be in trouble if i allow my son to used the new birth certificate instead of the one that was issued in CHina? i hope not. i just want the best for my son Sir. He has aask couple of times that he would take my son away from me.

enlighten me.. my son is the world to me and so he is to my family. i have been praying hard for this.. it kills me being far from him and sometimes it keeps me awake at night thinking..

was the china birth certificate submitted to the philippine embassy?

Yes the Birth Certificate was indeed registered and submitted to the Philippine Embassy in CHina. The late registry BC was also submitted in NSO and was authenticated.

Please help.

in that case, the proper birth certificate is the one issued in china.

if you risk ignoring the china certificate, it will depend if the NSO can trace it when you are requesting for a copy of the second certificate.

then, what do i do? will i be in trouble if i used the second one.? will it cause me any liability to the law?

please my son will be in grade 1 in a few weeks. iwa nted him to used my family name instead than risk him having to carry a name that doesnt even exist..

the experience of other posters here is that they were able to get the late reg bc for a while, then suddenly the NSO found the orig certificate because the system is computerized. they couldn't get copies of the previous certificate. it happens just as they are about to take board exams, apply for passport, visa, marriage.

weigh the risk, i assume the child has the same first name, mother's name and birth date on both certificates? i don't know the effect if it happens that the other certificate is a foreign one.

when you request for a bc now, which one is given to you?

The late registry certificate and the new one has all the same information except that the new one has my last name in it and the previous has his fathers. My relative wrote N/A to the fathers info on the new BC.

when we requested for a BC from NSO they gave us the new one for we wrote my last name so thats what they had given us.

So, in your opinion, if you are in my shoes, would i enroll my son for grade 1 with the new BC..?

I recommend you get many copies now so you will have many spares. the problem is if one day the birth certificate will get flagged when they find the china certificate. the nso will no longer issue you the 2nd certificate. the more times the birth certificate is requested, the more likely it will be discovered.

finally, if all this came out..will i be liable for any crime by the law? will i'll be in trouble for allowing myself and a relative to go for a late registry BC even i do have one already?

i've never heard of anyone being prosecuted for making a double registration, but if they really wanted to do it, it may be simulation of birth.
