Good day! I wish to ask regarding retainership for medical personnels. We have a 6month retainership contract and the management has told us that we are not entitled to holidays and that we have to go to the clinic on holidays and not entitled to the due compensation for holidays. Is this right? thank you very much.

what is a medical personnel? a nurse? med rep? doctor?

management personnel are not entitled to holiday personnel. but if you are not management then you should be entitled to holiday pay.

i'm a doctor. i'm not part of the management. they are stressing the point that we are retainers and that retainers are not regular employees hence not entitled to holidays. we have a 6months retainer agreement, examining patients 2x a week at office hours.

may i ask the difference between retainers and a regular employee?

thank you very much.

this is difficult to answer without reviewing your contract, but it appears you are a part-time employee, in which case you would be entitled to holiday pay. it's possible you were contracted as a contractor, and you would not be considered entitled to holiday pay
