Good day every one. I just want to know if a marriage that was just been arranged by one of the parents of a couple is valid. No wedding ceremony ever happened the couples were just been asked to sign the marriage contract and they said it was submitted to their municipal office. Both of them are at the right age at that time and both agreed to sign. They also tried to get a marriage contract through NSO and they've manage to get one. Hoping that someone can answer my question. Thanks in advance.

the absence of a ceremony makes it void, but that is very difficult to prove. the marriage is presumed to be valid until it is invalidated by a family court

Marriage ceremony is among the essential requisites of marriage, absence of which makes it void. However, for purposes of remarriage, you really need to have it declared void first by the court before you proceed. https://www.alburovillanueva.com/annulment-nullity-marriage You may even expose yourself to possible criminal prosecution for falsification of official document, since you signed a marriage certificate knowing that there had really been no ceremony that took place, so weigh very carefully the risks of your options.
