He is a first time offender. The incident was not premeditated. The offender's defense is self defense. The victim got punched near the eye. He suffered orbital fracture and needed to be operated on. He chose to be treated in the US instead in the Philippines which means the treatement was more expensive. If the defendant will lose the case, will the damages that are needed to be paid depend on all the treatments they went through in the US? Because if they had the operation done here in the Philippines, it wouldve been a lot cheaper.
