Can a person under probation get an NBI clearance?

Hi,

My boyfriend has just been filed a case and we have been advised by the police officer to plea guilty and apply for a probation afterwards just to get away with all the hassle in attending court hearings which could last for years. So our question is, if he is on probation, will it still show on his NBI clearance that he has a criminal offense? When can he clear his name?
