COMPANY UNIFORMS

Hi! Is it okay po ba na ibawas sa sweldo ng employee ang company uniforms? I've worked for 10 mos. only in this company, 2 mos. before ako magresign, I got my company uniforms. Hindi po ito binabawas sa sweldo ng ninuman, just when we (w/ my officemate) resigned last March 30, 2016, sinimulan nilang i.deduct sa last pay ng employees ang cost ng uniforms sa sinumang magreresign. When I asked my ex-officemates, dahil daw wala pang 1 year sa company. Is it correct even though it's not stated in our contract?. If they just did the policy during the time when we are about to resign, is it right? Thank you for your time.

magkano ba yung amount? You can file a complaint. Medyo grey area yan kasi. But if maliit lang ang amount baka talo ka pa sa pamasahe

Actually, the amount doesn't matter much, maliit lang po ang amount kung sa iisang employee lang. Pero tama po ba ang ginawa ng company? I've read some parts of labor code at sa pagkakaintindi ko po ay bawal ideduct ang company uniforms, confirm ko lang po sana kung tama yun, marami-rami na rin po kaming nabawasan ang last pay due to uniforms. no deductions are allowed unless the employee authorized them. the remedy is to file a complaint at dole.
