Greetings!
My name is Julia, a daughter of a 60 year old namely Danilo who has been working for an auto parts supply owned by a chinese-politician in Philippines. My father has been working with this family since 2004 as an acting outlet manager (been hired experience wise of more than 20 yrs at the same industry though he has not finished a degree) until recently since he has retired , they are still keeping him in the company(and because my father does not want to leave his work) until this Thursday, June 23, they sat with him along with two attorneys asking him to sign a memo. They asked him to resign otherwise he will be terminated from work because of an alleged discrepancy from their store sales amounting to PHP 199,000.00. My father is innocent and he has not taken any amount from this company.
My father was not able to finish his studies, tried hard to send us to school but did not have any bad record as he has even stayed for more than 20 years at a different company-same industry.
Now the attorney of the said shop owner is asking my father to sign and make a resignation just to avoid all these hassles as they are accusing him of dishonesty and connivance with his subordinates who had recently admitted they are doing illegal with regards to sales, etc.
Friday, June 24, they have disseminated an information to all suppliers and customers that my father is no longer connected with their company and just for today, they've been trying to reach my father to send his resignation as soon as possible.
Please I badly need an advice on this as I told my father not to resign as this was like telling them that he indeed made wrong doings. I know that we are only small people and the other party is actually a city councilor but I will stand for my father's rights and dignity.
Also it has come to my attention that some employers are doing this to avoid them paying for their benefits such as indemnity after retirement.
Looking forward to some kind hearted legal advisers here before we do any action as I've advised my family to got to PAO office by Monday, June 27 (last day to submit the explanation letter).
God bless!
Truly yours,
Julia
