What constitutes a self defense for the following scenario:

There is an imminent danger of physical harm with the use of weapons such as clubs, bolo, firearms, and the like.

Can it be called self defense if:

The person shows to the attacker his loaded firearm and discharges it on the ground or in the air with a BLANK round.

The requisites for self-defense are: 1) unlawful aggression on the part of the victim; 2) lack of sufficient provocation on the part of the accused; and 3) employment of reasonable means to prevent and repel and aggression.

if these can be proven, then self defense will prosper. it is not enough that the victim was simply armed; all the elements have to be proven.
