Yesterday my very rare, white Labrador was run over and killed in my subdivision by a rice vendor who had no right to be in the subdivision and was speeding. Having hit my dog, he dragged her from under the back wheels, threw her to the side of the road and drove away. Fortunately he was caught and we went to the police station. The local police made an appointment with a traffic officer for 2 pm today where we will discuss compensation. My dog was only nine months old and would soon be ready to breed. I have already turned down offers from breeders who wanted to buy her. One person offered 40,000 pesos as she is so rare. Taking into account then fact that she could have maybe 24 puppies over the next four years, that, including the cost of the dog is over half a million pesos. Am I justified in refusing any offer the driver makes and taking him to court to get full compensation for the loss of my dog.
