Sanction against me using FB pictues

Hi, My name is Brandon, my office HR gave me a final warning regarding a picture posted on my Facebook showing me and my colleague celebrating christmas, this was dated back Dec 25, 2014, today, I receive the report saying that I violate our protocol for taking picture inside the office, the picture did not show the logo, the product or the service we render, just pure picture of us celebrating christmas inside the office. Is this a valid a case, using my picture on my FB against me , never thought that part of their job description is to check my pictures on my account to be used against me.

Depending on the type of the company you work for, there may be various policies in place, especially concerning privacy and security. Such policies may include:

No electronic devices (cameras, mobile phones) in the operations area, which would ergo mean no photography in the workplace.




This was not part of our job as HR - to hunt for pictures to use as evidence - but when we do come across them, especially if the information is publicly accessible, then it is our duty to enforce the policies.

Duty din ng isang employee na maging aware sa company policies para walang blatant ignorance of such sa workplace. True, di nga trabaho ng HR na mag-hunt ng mga pictures sa social media accounts ng kanilang mga trabahador, pero kapag naging public yan and the public has access to such, duty ng HR na ipatupad ang mga patakaran regarding that. Approach this situation, as an advice, with total humility and admit your fault in the violation of such protocols. Immediately remove such pictures and make a verbal/written promise that such actions will not happen again. Best-case scenario dito is verbal warning lang ang ibibigay ng company HR nyo.
