warrantless arrest

I need to be educated, please.

If there was an inquest and the suspect was arrested right there and then, how long can he be legally detained? My best friend was detained late Friday evening for unjust vexation case. Since weekend na daw and close ang prosecutor's office on weekend, nakakulong pa rin sya hanggang ngayon (the case was received by the judge Monday pa daw kasi). Hindi ba   sobrang detention na ito? My friend's family wanted to bail him out pero under review pa daw case, so wait lang daw. In the meantime, nasa kulungan pa rin. Is this legal? Please advise. Maraming salamat po.

The police officers may be held liable under the Revised Penal Code dahil sa continues detention ng friend mo. Dapat within 12 hours after warrantless arrest ay naka-file na ng kaso sa kanya, otherwise, kailangan i-release na siya from detention.

Illegal na ang pagkukulong nila sa friend mo.
