Evil or Very Mad Idea Is it illegal to set up booby traps on one' vacant lot to discourage thieves or trespassers? The lot already is wall fenced.

interesting question, and i'm not sure. our local jurisprudence states that shooting a thief who is clearly not posing a threat is considered a crime. the case was a security guard who shot a thief who was holding stolen goods with both hands.

i have read an article that in the USA, a thief was electrocuted by a booby trap and the house owner was prosecuted. i don't know what was the outcome of the case.
