Arresto Menor

We were recently victimized by "akyat-bahay" and a number of items/gadgets were stolen among them my laptop, digital cameras, celphones, watches and other items. We received information that the suspects were the same people who have victimized our neighbors before. We filed a complaint at the barangay and a hearing was scheduled. But the suspects did not appear and some have gone into hiding. What should we do now? Can we now file a case? Sorry for my ignorance, this is the first time that we'll be involved in a legal case. How does the process go? Thank you.

Ask a certificate to file action from the barangay secretary or lupon.

File the proper complaint with the police, make a sworn statement. Or go to the prosecutor's office in order to file an information, bring with you your certificate to file action from the barangay, be ready to execute an affidavit-complaint, also bring your possible witnesses.
