I need some input regarding my Lola's Death Benefit claim since my Lolo died last February.
One of the requirements to claim the death benefit is their NSO Marriage Certificate. The problem is that their marriage was not registered for some reason (they got married at a very young age and I guess they didn't have any idea that the marriage license needed to be registered or submitted to the civil registrar).
I read that my Lola can actually go for late registration of their marriage, but she needs a certification from the solemnizing officer. The officer is already dead (my grandparents got married in 1960 by a missionary in a mission camp in leyte).
What can we do so that my Lola can claim the death benefit? She really needs it.
Thanks!
