In one operation the police was able to entrap a snatcher using a police agent as a decoy. the snatcher after being followed unknowingly led the police to one of the many hideouts of the theft syndicate operating in the area.
Upon arrival at the hideout the police were able to apprehend 7 well known snatchers, one of whom was the street orphan Nene a 12 year old child. Nena tried to run away upon seeing the police, but one policeman readily caught up on her. because she continued to resist the police forcibly carried her while restraining her hands behind her firmly but not violently. nena was handcuffed and brought to the police together with her 6 companions. en route to the station one policeman addressed nena "Gago kang bata ka kabata bata mu pa lng halang na bituka mu." upon arrival nena was confined together with her companions in a cell intended for adult offenders. pending the arrival of the police officer in charge of the womens and children desk, the case of nena and her companions were entered in the police blotter.
Just then a staff of imbestigador accompanied by the regional police chief walked into the police station. Mike Enriques as it were wanted to do a TV special on children inconflict with the law andconvinced the police director to do a spot check on various police precincts to ensure that the provisions of juvenile justice law are being enforced by the police, the staff of imbestigador talked to nene. nene narrated what happened in detail and stated the same facts as shown above.
