Arresto Menor

hi atty! meron po ba tayong batas tungkol sa pagpapakamatay? halimbawa nagpakamatay ang isang lalaki dahil sa hiniwalayan siya ng kanyang girlfriend? liable ba ang babae?

This does not need a Lawyer to explain, unless the GF is instrumental on the BF's suicide, it would fall to Crime. If we need to discuss this in a personal point of view, Do you think it's right to blame someone else when someone commits suicide? I personally believe you shouldn't. Suicide is a choice, no matter the scenario, it's suicide because you took your life not someone else. I also think this "edge" people say they get pushed to is fictional, and that there is no place where you can't stop yourself from killing yourself. Abraham Lincoln once said "At what point then is the approach of danger to be expected? I answer, if it ever reach us, it must spring up amongst us. It cannot come from abroad. If destruction be our lot, we must ourselves be its author and finisher. As a nation of freemen, we must live through all time, or die by suicide." Therefore Suicide is a personal choice and shouldn't be blamed to someone else.

in the united states, they have a law called 'deparaved heart' homicide, but we don't have it here.

it will depend on the circumstances, but if just that they separated then he is not liable. if he pushed her to do it, then he can be liable civilly.
