My parents got married in 1971. We were then a happy family until our father died in 2004. I have 3 other siblings. My mom started receiving my father's pension and other benefits from the government until and after March of last year when her ID expired and the office in Camp Crame, (my father is a high ranking police officer by the way) was requesting for new requirements for ID renewal. When they submitted the documents and NEW request for CENOMAR, my mother was surprised to find out that my father got married 2 years earlier before they got married in 1971. She then was able to get a copy of the allegedly FIRST wife's marriage contract to another man a year after my parents got married. My mom's pension was put on hold until and after we provide them documents as to WHAT HAPPENNED TO THE FIRST WIFE, which of course we are not aware of from the start. All my father's documents since he graduated from graduate school (he was already married to my mom), until he worked in the government, it was only us, whom he filed as his dependents and acknowledged my mom as his spouse from the very start. My father didn't even changed his marital status after his FIRST MARRIAGE before he met my mother. My mother didn't even hear anything about the FIRST WIFE from the relatives nor from the FIRST WIFE herself. She didn't even tried to bother my parents or create any problem, UNTIL only now that we discover it.
WE WERE ALL CAUGHT UNAWARE WHAT TO DO, WHERE TO START, WHAT DOCUMENTS TO PROVIDE OR WHATSOVER. ALL MY FATHER'S RECORDS FROM THE START UNTIL HE DIED, IT WAS ONLY US WHOM HE FILED AS HIS DEPENDENTS.
ATTY. DO YOU THINK WE CAN STILL RECOVER MY DAD'S PENSION? WHAT ARE THE STRONGEST EVIDENCE THAT WE CAN PROVIDE?
YOUR KIND HELP WIL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.[b][i]
