Good day. I was one of 3 employees who was in a way retrenched. Although it was not formal we were told that due to company losses they were force to cut down expenses thus telling us that our services are no longer needed without telling us in advance either written notice or verbal.

my questions are:
1. Is this retrenchment already?
2. Is this legal, are we entitled to receive separation pay?
3. What can we do if were entitled to separation pay and were not given by the company?

Thanks in advance and please give me advice regarding this. God bless and more power.

if you are regular employees, you should be given 30 day notice plus separation pay
