Our constituion guarantees no one goes to jail because of a loan. So never sign anything like promissory notes or new checks. The best thing they can do is to sue you for anti bouncing check law if you issue a check and you were not able to fund it or to file for a collection of sum of money which will never put you in jail since it is only a civil case.
