I want to ask if I can put my baby after my last name instead of the father's and have him sign the BC of the kid just to acknowledge that he is the biological father?

Will that not affect the last name of my baby? I mean the father signing the birth certificate? Thanks.

the work around i recommend is for you to ask him to issue an affidavit acknowledging the child, but don't let him sign the birth certificate.
