i am about to register my business kaya lang i have a problem with the pricing specifically with the 12% tax. suppose to say i have a product worth Php50(mark up included),will i add the 12%(Php6)so it becomes Php56? Napapansin ko sa mga receipts, sakto yung presyo nila kahit may nakapataw na na tax. I was wondering paano nila ginagawa yun? napansin nyo ba?

They just round the price to make it easier to understand and then reverse compute it.

For example, instead of P 121.48 - they would rather made it like P 129.95. THEN they reverse compute like

NO Tax price x 1.12 = Price with VAT

So, No Tax price is = 129.95/ 1.12 = 116.02

So in receipt they print

116.02
13.93 VAT
----------
129.95 <-- which is what price tag says because it must show price with VAT

In other countries, they dont include the VAT in the price tag - so you can get surprised at the counter!

I think our system is better. You know exactly what you will pay.
