Hi. I have a cousin who I am supporting for her legal battle against a estafa case that was filed against her. I never believed that she would commit such a thing and so I am supporting her financially. Lately though, I am beginning to have doubts. She told me that she needed to renew her bail as it will expire soon, a year after the first posting. Can you tell me whether a bail has expiration or not and if one really needs to renew it on a yearly basis? Thank you for your help.

was bail a cash bond or was it through surety? if surety, the insurance company may ask for additional payments.
