Hello po, I'm Jason. I am currently facing a rift off with a establishment because my friends and I are not able to get our IDs. We rented a certain clothings from a shop (150php each), last week. When we returned the clothes, the owner wanted us to pay a penalty charge of 50 php per day. it has been 7 days from the day we rented the clothing and they required us to pay 350 php each for the release of our IDs.

Before renting, we asked if we are to deposit a certain amount for security, and yet they told us that our IDs are enough for deposit. we can claim them after we return the stuff. No due date was mentioned before affixing our signature on the list they required us to sign. No due date was also stated in our receipts. now, we returned the stuff, but the establishment cannot give our IDs back. We badly needed those Ids, and paying that penalty is not even justifiable. we did try to talk it out yet they insisted on their claims.

Assert your side, especially if you did nothing wrong and you followed the agreement to the letter.

Tell them that you are going to press charges against them if the IDs are not returned to their original owners, since there was no violations done on your part as per your agreement with them.

Keep all receipts and other documents that prove the existence of your agreement with them, since those will be essential evidences in proving your case if this will become a full-blown case in court.

Good luck.
